We are Lloyd’s Agency in the Republic of Yemen and Our survey department has fully qualified and highly experienced Master Mariners who conduct all type of survey work on a regular basis.

We have the capability to handle and fully report upon any requirements made to us, covering all ports i.e. Hodeidah, Mokha, Saleef, Aden, Mukalla as well as inland destinations like Sana’a and Taiz.

Performance work statement of the
required services (General).

  • Acknowledgement of task orders within 3 days of receipt.
  • Liaising with the applicant and applicable vessel’s agents to co-ordinate to enable on time attendance for the services to be provided.
  • Deputing qualified surveyors to witness and monitor discharging operations.
  • Issuing preliminary report with follow-up report on daily basis regarding cargo condition and quantity discharged.
  • Notification to Contracting Officer immediately in the event of a major loss.
  • Evidence of issuance of notice of damage to the carrier’s representative within 3 days of discharge.
  • Observation and provision of documentation and evidence for the disposition of any damaged cargo.
  • In case of damaged cargo obtaining of samples subject to authorization by the contracting officer and arranging timely analysis of suspected unfit cargo by an independent third-party lab.
  • Timely replies to all enquiries.

Service Performance

Breakbulk Shipments

  • The surveyor will board the vessel immediately upon arrival and witness breaking of the seals if any.
  • On opening of hatch covers, inspection of the vessel’s holds and condition of cargo.
  • Supervision of discharge and description in detail of cargo delivery process.
  • Provide the actual or estimated weight loss of any shortage or damaged cargo and the type and severity of damage.
  • Carry out tally to establish the quantity discharged.
  • Checking of vessel’s holds after discharge.

Containerised Shipments

  • Noting container no’s and seal no’s at the time of discharge / delivery.
  • Monitoring destuffing operation and cargo condition.
  • Noting condition of container and any defects to the container.
  • Carry out tally to establish the quantity discharged.

Bulk Shipments

  • The surveyor will board the vessel immediately upon arrival and witness breaking of the seals if any.
  • Conducting draft surveys to ascertain the quantity of cargo on board on arrival.
  • On opening of hatch covers, inspection of the vessel’s holds and condition of cargo.
  • Supervision of discharge and description in detail of cargo delivery process.
  • Scale information, including scale location, scale type, date of last calibration and other factors effecting scale weight accuracy.
  • Provide the actual or estimated weight loss of any shortage or damaged cargo and the type and severity of damage.
  • If cargo is bagged by vessel’s interests, observation of bagging operations and reporting the quantity bagged, documenting the total bags count and weight and method of such determination.
  • Carry out tally to establish the quantity discharged.
  • Checking of vessel’s holds after discharge.

Past performance

A current contract is in force for all WFP / UNDP shipments to Yemen. We have been carrying out surveys for WFP / UNDP food aid shipments to Yemen since 1974.

We have also carried out surveys for various inspection companies such as Baltic Control, IPC Horman, Viglienzone Adriatica, PKB Scania, CESAM Paris and Verein Hanseatischer Transportversicherer e.v. etc.

We are also survey agents for various underwriters worldwide such as Tokio Marine, Yasuda Fire and Marine Ins., Nippon Fire and Marine Ins., P.I.C.C China, Marsh, AGF Mat, Ace Insurance, Allianz, Inter Cargo, Generali Marine Italy, W.K. Webster & Co. etc.
